Standard Hiring Process

Individual Placement

An individual will work independently at your business. Choice staff is available for the initial training, transportation, and follow- up services.

Hiring Process:

  1. Interview a Heartland Industries, Inc. candidate 
  2. Talk with Heartland Industries, Inc. staff about support needs for candidate 
  3. Check candidate’s references
  4. Perhaps offer a job trial to assess work skills and good job match 
  5. If the Heartland Industries, Inc. candidate is able to do all functions of the job per the job description, you may pay him/her your prevailing wage. 
  6. If you have created a position or changed the job description for the Heartland Industries, Inc. candidate, you may alter the wage accordingly.

Mobile Work Crews

A team of people work at your business with ongoing supervision from our professional staff. Staff are available to help with quality control, and provide supervision at all times.

Hiring process:

  1. Meet with Heartland Industries, Inc. staff to tour your site and talk about work to be done. 
  2. Call Heartland Industries, Inc. references if desired 
  3. You may pay each person from Heartland Industries, Inc. directly on your payroll OR you may pay Heartland Industries, Inc. for the work to be done and Heartland Industries, Inc. will pay workers according to their productivity.

Contract Work - Center Based

Heartland Industries, Inc. is also available as an outsource service for mailings, light assembly and packaging of products. We bring this work to our center and return it when the job is done.

 Hiring process: 

  1. Meet with Heartland Industries, Inc. staff to tour your site, see a sample of work to be done and talk about your production needs. 
  2. You may pay for the work done by Heartland Industries, Inc. by piece rate.
